With more than thirty-five years of trial experience, Scott focuses his practice on commercial and business-related counseling and litigation, employment litigation, toxic tort litigation, and bankruptcy.
Scott has distinguished himself as a trial lawyer for more than thirty-five years. He has represented clients in courts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, Florida, New York, Washington, California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Colorado.
Together with Todd, Scott has successfully litigated hundreds of cases on behalf of clients.
He has been admitted to the bar in Minnesota, the following federal bars: U.S. District Court (Minnesota), Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals; Court of Claims (Washington D.C.), U.S. Supreme Court.
Scott A. Johnson is a graduate of Cornell University and an honors graduate of Hamline Law School (now Mitchell-Hamline Law School) - where he served as an editor of the Hamline Law Review.
Scott has for many years taught at the University of Minnesota Law School as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Skills. Student feedback has consistently ranked Scott as one of the most respected and appreciated professors in the trial skills program.
Scott is also an avid songwriter, writing country and pop tunes. He has represented artists seeking recording deals from major labels. One of Scott’s country rock songs was sent to 120 radio stations throughout Europe in 1999. It shot up the radio charts throughout Europe, reaching #1 on the combined Independent Top 40 chart, eclipsing songs released by Shania Twain, Wynona Judd, and other country stars. Scott’s tunes have been received and retained for consideration by national caliber artists and labels. He continues to write and promote songs to record companies and publishers in Nashville, New York, Los Angeles, and London. He is also co-writing with other songwriters in Minneapolis and Nashville.
